We don't work from a fixed catalogue or expect every job to fit the same mould. You might know exactly what you need, have an architect's drawing ready to go, need us to match something that's already there, or simply have an idea you're trying to make work. Whatever brings a job through our workshop door, we approach it in much the same way: understand what's needed, work out the best way to make it, and make it properly.

Being a small, family-run workshop means we can adapt.

We're just as happy making a single piece as we are taking on the joinery for a much larger project. It also means we're able to tackle the unusual, the awkward and the things that aren't readily available off the shelf. You don't need a large order to work with us. Sometimes you only need one.

BUILT AROUND THE JOB.

Some projects arrive as detailed drawings and specifications. Others begin with a photograph, a measurement or an existing piece that needs replacing.

We'll work with what's appropriate for the job, drawing on more than 26 years of experience to make sure what leaves our workshop is right for where it's going. Traditional or contemporary. New build or existing property. One piece or many.

Our joinery is made in our Cockfield workshop by our own team. That matters to us. It means we know who's making it, we can keep an eye on the details and we're able to maintain the standards our family name has been built on. We're not interested in making AJ Joinery bigger for the sake of being bigger. We'd rather remain what we've always been: a good, adaptable workshop that takes pride in what it makes.
